This accident was in Arica about 9 years ago. I was driving a honda civic which is a small and fast car. I and three friends were looking for a place to go camping, so we are at a rural zone. I remember I was driving to a speed of 70 km/s when the asphalt road ended abruptly and it continued as a rural road. It wouldn't be any problem if the rural road had been ok, but a few meters after its start there was a hole. A big problem was the sand which wasn't in the hole that was in front of the hole . but the biggest problem was I didn't see the hole until we were about 3 meters from it where I tried to brake.We crashed without any damage in the car, but a friend who was seated on the back hit his head against a solid part of the car. We had to go the hospital to suture his head. Luckily any other friend that was in the car suffered serious injuries, but if my co-pilot and I hadn't been with the seat belts we had hit ourselves against the windshield.
