This accident was in Arica about 9 years ago. I was driving a honda civic which is a small and fast car. I and three friends were looking for a place to go to camping, so we are at a rural zone. I remember I was driving to a velocity of 70 km/s when the asphalt road ended abruptly and it continued as a rural road. It wouldn't be any problem if the rural road had been ok, but a few meter after its start there was an hole. A big problem was the sand which wasn't in the hole was put when the hole ended. but the biggest problem was I didn't see the hole until we were about 3 meters of it where I tried to brake.We crashed without any damage in the car, but a friend who was seated on the back hit with his head a solid part of the car. We had to go the hospital to suture his head. Luckily any other friend that went into the car suffered serious injuries, but if my co-pilot and I hadn't been with the seat belts we had hit with the windshield.
